I’m not entirely sure if I want lunch today. There’s a little container of uneaten fried rice sitting next to me that I didn’t get around to at last night’s grandiose $60 chinese food “binge” if you will. Although I do need coffee. Decisions decisions.
See the one thing that’s keeping me from going outside is the pollen count. In case you’ve never been to Savannah, the entire city is covered in Live Oaks. Back up North in Boston, I was pretty damn allergic to REGULAR Oaks. But these Oaks? They’re LIVE! And the show isn’t one night only. It’s goddamn five week long tree orgy. I believe I’m now hitting week four. I’m all out of Alavert, the crappiest antihistamine known to mankind. Why did I have them then? Because CVS was all out of Claritin. I don’t know if you can even count this CVS as a CVS. They’re constantly out of stuff and never restock until Tuesdays, which makes me very nervous as to if they’ll actually have anything I need. That’s right. I have to go there today. I need drugs and laundry detergent. But drugs mostly. You gotta have drugs.
I also need to go on a texture hunt for the current level I’m designing: the interior of a Celtic Church. There’s just something highly compelling about playing a game of 20 person, UT2004 Deathmatch in the Irish vision of God’s House. After I go to CVS I have to make the rest of the static meshes, then turn to my trusty “Mastering Unreal” book and find out how to import them so I don’t get errors, which was happening a little while ago.
Oh well. Time for that coffee.
