Finally a time for an update, Canadian style. Just kidding. That would be sad. But anyway, my spring break has come a close and with it a week of sitting around and doing nothing. I needed that, honestly, after the stress of last quarter. This time around I get to learn Maya and make some of the first levels from NightRise. Just need to decide which ones. Very tricky decision.
Speaking of which, I tweaked some bits of the design over break, specifically the combo moves. Originally, the gun combos were completely different from the sword combos, but I decided against that, making the combos pretty much the same between both guns and swords, giving each weapon type a melee/block, a stealth maneuver, a back attack, a double attack, an AOE, and an air to ground maneuver. Still debating about the air juggling. As much as the combat is going to be like Devil May Cry, the aerial combat is a bit much for a game about fighting terrorists. You’ll be able to attack from the air, but to float in the air while holding the enemy there and hitting them too is a bit much. That may change by Chapter 2, but for Chapter 1? Nah.
Um so yeah that’s it. I had this whole long, rant planned a few days ago but then completely forgot what it was about and still haven’t remembered. Until next time.
